His personality is shown to be aloof, grumpy, and standoffish, but is otherwise loving and courageous. In the first film, while passing through the icy cave, the herd discovers cave paintings of Manny with his wife and child, who were killed by humans this is a very sentimental moment for Manny, since he failed to protect them. At the end of the film, Manny and Sid return Roshan to the neanderthals with an injured Diego trailing behind them. He finds love with Ellie in Ice Age The Meltdown. In Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs, he is anxious when Ellie is pregnant. At the end of the film, he becomes the proud father of a baby daughter named Peaches. In Ice Age Continental Drift, he gets into an argument with his teenage daughter before being pulled away in by the drift with Diego, Sid and Granny. He and the team later encounter a group of pirates led by Captain Gutt. When the team escaped they destroy the ship and take Shira with them. This enrages the Captain who hunts them down. Spoiled by their upbringing and unaware of what wildlife really is, four animals from the New York Central Zoo escape, unwittingly assisted by four absconding. The orphan boy Pinky follows the Captain on an exciting and dangerous journey across the big oceans to the kingdom of Lama Rama, hunting for a treasure and the answer. A running gag for Manny, shown in four of the five films, is that if a certain character were to refer to him as fat, he would often deny it, saying that his fur is what makes him look big and that its poofy. Little is known from Sids life other than that Sid once lived in a tree with other sloths that always wanted to leave Sid behind when the migration occurred, using several different ways to leave him behind. He accidentally starts a fire in the first film and learns how to do it properly towards the end he also shows this skill in the second film, where he is worshiped by a tribe of mini sloths who call him Fire King and try to sacrifice him. In the third film, he adopts a trio of baby T Rexes, and is forcibly taken to the underground dinosaur land by their mother, requiring the others to come and save him. In the fourth film, it is revealed that his full name is Sidney, though this name was also used in a deleted scene of the first film. When he, Diego and Manny are on the ice and are forced up by a water spout, they see a rainbow in the bright blue sky as he told them that there is a rainbow at the end of every corner. A mechanical version of Sid appears in Robots during the miming scene. Sid was built along the form typical of ground sloths, short, brushy tail, clawed hands and feet, a long thin neck, ovular head with bulbous eye on both sides and a pair of buckteeth. Sids right front tooth was slightly bigger than the left, similar to his right eye, which was also somewhat bigger than the left, both eyes of which were pale green. Sids pelt was dirty and tan, and became brown when the fungus it carried dried out, Sid attributing the state of his pelt to his vegetarian diet, which he said led to a younger looking pelt. In his films, Sid faints at certain times when hes getting hit e. Diego is a saber toothed cat found in all five of the films. He is Shiras love interest. He has a sardonic personality, although it is not intended to be nasty. He was sent by his pack to retrieve the human baby called Roshan When he found Roshan in Manny and Sids care, he pretended to lead them to the humans, but instead planned to lead them into an ambush by the pack. However, when Manny saved his life, Diego had a change of heart, confessing about the pack and sacrifices himself to help them escape. He was seemingly killed by the packs leader, Soto, but survived and joined Manny and Sid on their travels. In the second film, he was revealed to suffer from aquaphobia, but he eventually conquered it in order to save Sid, Crash and Eddie. In the third film, he began to fear that he was losing his predatory abilities from being in the herd too long, and considered staying in the underground dinosaur world with Buck. He changed his mind after managing to save the labored Ellie from a dinosaur attack. In Ice Age Continental Drift, another Smilodon named Shira joins the group, and Diego feels attracted to her. During the end credits, Diego and Shira are seen nuzzling each other showing that they have now become a couple. Crash and EddieeditCrash and Eddie are two twin brother opossums. Adoptive brothers of Ellie, they cared for her and taught her to hang by her tail from a tree branch when she slept, as they did. They are shown to be adventurous and fun loving, courtesy of the fact that theyre both very stupid. They first made their presence known to the opening characters by means of shooting pebbles through reeds at Sid and Diego, then roasting them so as to humiliate them, but Diego began chasing them, leading both Sid and Diego to Ellie. After much persuasion, Ellie and her brothers joined Manny, Sid, and Diego, though Crash and Eddie spared almost no opportunity in annoying Diego. As they traveled with Manny and his friends, Ellie grew closer to Manny, putting both Crash and Eddie somewhat closer to Manny and his friends, but creating a short feud when Manny tried hitting on Ellie. They even play dead when crows are nearby. In time, however, they saw behind the petty grudges and worked together with Manny, Sid, and Diego to escape the flood, but left with Ellie when she left Manny and his friends to cross the minefield, as she claimed that it was suicide to cross it. Crash and Eddie joined Ellie in trying to escape the flood, but soon ran into trouble when they were trapped in a cave. Ellie insisted that they leave her to the point of pushing them outwards from a small crevice, but they promised to return with help, and true to their word, persuaded Manny to try and free Ellie. They eventually made their way into a rushing current of water and were almost swept away when an overzealous Sid came along to jump into the current, leaving them, in addition to holding onto a branch for dear life against the current of water, trying to hold onto an unconscious Sid. Diego eventually helped when he jumped in and saved them from drowning along with Sid. When Manny had saved Ellie from drowning, they helped Ellie back onto solid ground, but almost drowned when the flood was encroaching. Eventually however, the waters drained, leaving Crash, Eddie, and all of the others alive. When a herd of mammoths came by as mammoths were presumed all but extinct, they thought that Ellie would go with them and leave Manny, so they went with her. But as it turned out, Manny and Ellie stayed together because they wanted to, rather than being obligated to, and so they left onwards with Sid and Diego, as well as Crash and Eddie. In the third film, Crash and Eddie travel with the others to the dino jungle to save Sid from Momma, and both grow to idolize Buck, the one eyed dinosaur hunting weasel who helped them find Sid. In the third film, they also mentioned they never liked Sid. This is not true however, due to helping Buck save Sid from his incoming death. Sabretooth was originally portrayed as a non powered serial killer but was later written as a mutant possessing bestial superhuman abilities, most notably a rapid healing factor, razor sharp fangs and claws, and superhuman senses. He is a vicious assassin, responsible for numerous deaths both as a paid mercenary and for his personal pleasure. Sabretooths long time enemy is the mutant and X Men member, Wolverine, with conflicting accounts as to the origin of their feud. It is known that Wolverine and Sabretooth were victims of the Cold Warsupersoldier program Weapon X, and that Sabretooth saw Wolverine as competition and therefore antagonized him. While Wolverine is depicted as suppressing his more savage qualities, Sabretooth does the opposite and embraces them, until the events of AXIS. Sabretooth was initially conceived as a recurring antagonist for Iron Fist, whom he fights several times. He works for a time with the Constrictor as a partner in crime, and clashes repeatedly with Iron Fist and Power Man. Sabretooth also appeared in comics such as The Spectacular Spider Man. Chris Claremont introduced him as a minor X Men villain, a member of the Marauders, during the Mutant Massacre crossover in 1. He rose to greater prominence when he was split off from the Marauders and became a recurring antagonist of an individual member of the X Men, Wolverine. Sabretooth was subsequently featured in limited series and one shotcomics including Sabretooth and Mystique and Sabretooth In the Red Zone, and even had his own ongoing reprint series in the mid 1. Sabretooth Classics. Chris Claremont had meant for Sabretooth to be Wolverines father, though this was contradicted by subsequent writers. Claremont, when asked what he had intended to be the relationship between Wolverine and Sabretooth, stated Father and son. Thats why Sabretooth always considered Logan sloppy seconds to his original real deal. The other critical element in my presentation of their relationship was that, in their whole life, Logan has never defeated Sabretooth in a knock down, drag out, kill or be killed berserker fight. By the same token, on every one of his birthdays, Sabretooth has always managed to find him, no matter where Logan was or what he was doing, and come within an inch of killing him. An interviewer asked Paul Jenkins if Dog Logan, a character from Wolverines early life, from the limited series Origin was Sabretooth. Paul Jenkins said he had not intended it to be him, but said he would not have a problem with another writer doing it later. At the end of the miniseries Astonishing Spider Man Wolverine it is shown that Dog and Victor Creed are not the same person, as Dog is teleported from the turn of the 2. X Men ForevereditIn X Men Forever, Chris Claremonts continuation of his run on X Men non canonical to the mainstream timeline and taking place in the 1. Marvel Universe, Sabretooth is established as Wolverines father. He attacks the X Mansion, but is blinded by Storm. Claremont has stated in an interview that in X Men Forever the original true Sabretooth makes his reappearance after a long time, and that most of the previous appearances of Sabretooth prior to X Men Forever 2, that follows directly after X Men vol. Sabretooth clone created by Mister Sinister. The original true Sabretooth reappears dressed in the Jim Lee costume in X Men Forever, which would make the weaker clone the one dressed in the John Byrne costume. Claremont claims he always meant for the Sabretooth dressed in the Byrne costume to be later outed as a clone of the original true Sabretooth. Claremont stated Speaking specifically of the cast of X Men Forever, one character whos becoming more enticing is Sabretooth, in part because at least as it relates to my conception of him very little is actually known. At this specific point of his life, readers havent really seen that much of him over the years, since the Sabes thats shown up most over the time is a less endowed copy cloned from spare cells by Mr. Sinister. 1. 2Fictional character biographyeditEarly lifeeditSabretooths name, or what is believed to be his real name, is Victor Creed. Sabretooths memories have been tampered with by clandestine organizations such as Weapon X and so much of what appears to be his past is not of credible account. The clearest accounts of Victors childhood begin with him murdering his brother Luther over a piece of pie. His father then chains him in the basement like an animal and systematically pulls out Victors elongated canines, which perennially grow back. Victor begs his mother to let him go, but she does not. Years pass until Victor eventually gnaws off his own hand in order to escape the basement and apparently murders his parents. It is, however, later revealed that Sabretooth only killed his father, and took care of his mother financially, visiting her frequently until her death. Victor is revealed to have had a brother, Saul, and sister, Clara, who are believed to be the reason for Victors ongoing feud with the X Mens Wolverine. Saul Creed was a tracker and hunter, while Clara was an animal handler. They helped track down a feral James Logan Howlett, the future Wolverine, for a circus. They also helped Logan escape after he was experimented on by Nathaniel Essex, and the three go on the run. Saul perceives Logan to be stealing Clara from him, leading to him tipping Essex off regarding Logans location. In the ensuing chaos, Logan accidentally kills Clara, although her healing factor later revives her. Saul Creed, not knowing this, blames Essex for her death, and the two men seek Essex out, Saul Creed revealing that Clara was his sister. Logan, however, finds out that Saul Creed betrayed them to Essex, and drowns Saul Creed in a potion of Essexs. Horrified by this, Clara asks Wolverine to never look for her again. Victor Creed was then informed about his brothers death. In an early tale, Logan lives in a small Blackfoot community. One day, Sabretooth tracks him down in Canada, and seemingly murders his one time teammates lover, Silver Fox, on Logans birthday, after Silver Fox rejects him. In this tale, it is indicated that Logan did not have particularly strong feelings for Silver Fox, and that her murder was simply the last straw in a series of grievances he held against Sabretooth. Creed eventually adopts a tradition of tracking Logan down on his birthday with the intention of fighting him. Early historyeditCreed is recruited into a top secret CIAcovert ops unit known as Team X, with allies John Wraith Kestrel, Logan Wolverine, Silver Fox whose death was a hoax, and David North Maverick.
